Love Heart Feature // Love, Honour and Be True

Today on the Lace & Love Hearts blog I am thrilled to introduce you to an exclusive new bridal makeup brand called Love, Honour and Be True. The lovely ladies at Love, Honour and Be True were kind enough to send me samples of two of their products and I have to say I was very impressed. I place a great deal of importance on only promoting products and services which I believe live up to my very high standards, and I can say with complete honestly that Love, Honour and Be True lipsticks are gorgeous, long-wearing, so moisturising and great for enhancing your natural beauty. Basically everything a bride could possibly want!

I wore both lipsticks for a day each, only had to re-apply twice, and was left with beautifully moisturised lips at the end of each day.

Now, over to the Love, Honour & Be True ladies for more about their gorgeous lipsticks…

Love, Honour and Be True is a Bridal makeup brand which has a range of five beautiful lipstick shades. Our products have been created with the sole purpose of enhancing the bride’s natural beauty.

Our colours have been specifically chosen to be timeless so your wedding photographs will always be beautiful. We designed our lipstick colours to vary from nude through to red.

We believe that every bride is unique and each shade is designed for a different look. All of our lipstick shades suit all skin tones, are moisturising, non-bleeding and long lasting. Our lipsticks are filled in the UK and all ingredients are not tested on animals. The lipstick are named after various wedding themes; Love Story, Kiss the Bride, I Do, Just Married and Blushing Bride.

Love, Honour and Be True was launched in early 2014 by sisters Helen and Kitty. Kitty got married in October 2012 and Helen was chosen to be her maid of honour. Planning and researching trends became an obsession and we found the whole process exciting and inspirational.

Kitty also has over ten years of professional makeup experience and knows how to ensure that every bride looks and feels her best of her big day. Kitty discovered that for brides the one thing they need once their makeup artist has left is an excellent quality lipstick to keep topped up, however many brides find it quite stressful to choose a lipstick for their wedding day. What colour? Will it wear well? How long will it last? Many brides also find beauty counters in department stores quite daunting, and an unnecessary source of stress as their special day approaches. All of this sparked an idea, and eighteen months later, our precious products have arrived!

A few short months after launching, our lipsticks have now been approached by the amazing British wedding dress designer Elizabeth Stuart to be part of her Fall show at London Bridal Fashion week, where the models wore our lovely nude ‘Just Married’. Their products are available via their online store, and can be found in the kits of over twenty makeup artists and salons throughout the UK and beyond.

The Alison Price & Company Wedding Showcase

Alison Price & Company enchanted guests with a Seasonal Wedding & Party Showcase

I was absolutely thrilled to receive an invitation to an exclusive showcase held at the very beautiful Two Temple Place and hosted by esteemed London catering company, Alison Price & Company. As I had not been introduced to Alison Price’s work before, I was very keen to find out for myself why they have such a strong reputation. It turns out I was in for a real treat!

The showcase was split between two grand and imposing rooms, one of which was filled with the most intricately beautiful and delicious foods I have ever seen. It was like walking into an Aladdin’s Cave where every single treasure was edible, and tasted out of this world. This was art in its truest form and created an enchanted atmosphere of intrigue and enjoyment. The room was completed by a beautiful bride wearing an exquisite and delicately embellished gown and gorgeous background music.

Making my way up the magnificent central staircase to the second floor I entered an imposing great hall complete with oak panelling, a vaulted ceiling and magical lighting. Within this room I was able to enjoy floral arrangements, tablescapes, wedding cakes and stationery from some of the UK’s most passionate and talented suppliers.

Every element came together perfectly to create a wonderful showcase which highlighted how innovative and ahead of their game Alison Price & Company really are.

Take a look below for more information regarding the event and contact details for the suppliers…

A special mention to Kate Nielen Fine Art Photography. Kate, your images are quite simply sublime. Thank you for giving me access to them for this feature. I hope that we can work together again soon.

An enviable list of wedding and event planners, bloggers and press attended an exclusive evening at the spectacular Two Temple Place, London last night, showcasing the style of food, design and service Alison Price & Company can provide for weddings and private parties.

‘Seasons’ was the theme of the evening and as guests entered the ornately decorated hall they were welcomed with food stations packed with miniature, edible delights. Guests sampled delicious cheese boards and cured meats from the autumnal charcuterie station, a winter wonderland bar, spring afternoon tea and irresistible summer desserts, whilst the sounds of a live band from Sternberg Clarke filled the room.

The showcase continued upstairs as guests were invited to view a show stopping range of cakes provided by Elizabeth’s Cakes Emporium and four impressive wedding table designs, reflecting the seasons. This was a collaboration of beautiful furniture from Great Hire and Jones, wonderfully designed menus and invitations by Piccolo Press, topped with stunning flower arrangements by Shane Connolly & Company. A competitive element was added to the evening by the Alison Price team as guests were asked to vote on their favourite season!

Wise Productions provided perfect lighting, whilst Chapter 7 scents ensured that the venue smelt amazing, adding to the warm ambience at Two Temple Place. The evening was complete with a model bride gracing the rooms in an exquisite dress designed by Sassi Holford.

Love Heart Feature // The Original Wedding Tea Towel

Eco brides take note! Today’s Love Heart Feature is especially for you to enjoy as it features a charming and earth-friendly alternative to the traditional paper wedding invitation.

While planning her own wedding, Karen decided that she wanted to send her guests something a little bit special, something unique which would stand out from the multitude of paper invitations the average person receives each year. Following Karen’s beautiful wedding she decided along with her new husband Ben that their idea of creating wedding invitations on tea towels may just be attractive to other couples, especially couples who were planning an eco-friendly wedding. Perhaps others would appreciate the opportunity to invite their guests to their own weddings in such a memorable way. Well, as it turned out they did, and The Original Wedding Tea Towel was born!

The Lace & Love Hearts blog is dedicated to discovering and promoting eco-friendly alternatives to the norm, and you can’t get much more eco-friendly than forgoing paper and card invitations entirely in favour of something which will be used again and again! ‘Reduce’, ‘reuse’ and ‘recycle’ are the buzz words right now, and by opting for wedding tea towels you will reduce the amount of paper invitation in people’s bins, your lucky guests will reuse their tea towels every day, and once they are spent they can be recycled along with other bit of fabric at your local recycling centre. You really cannot get any greener! Oh, and no one is likely to forget your anniversary if there’s a tea towel bearing the date hanging around their kitchen!

There are currently twenty three eye-catching designs to choose from over at The Original Wedding Tea Towel’s dazzling website, and they also provide matching evening invitations, info cards, favours, save the dates and RVSP cards. The great thing about these tea towels (as well as being super green!) is that you can customise each design to fit perfectly with your overall wedding concept by changing the wording and matching the colour used on the fabric to your own pallet. The Original Wedding Tea Towel also offer a bespoke service if there’s something very specific that you would like to include. Karen and Ben will work with you to design and create a product which is completely unique to your wedding!

So if you want to make a big impression on your guests from the very beginning and leave them with a lovely keepsake, check out The Original Wedding Tea Towel!

Love Heart Feature // Sweet Campers

Sweet Campers, a North East-based wedding transport provider is not only a stunning Vintage VW Wedding Car, but also a sweet treat provider the like of which you probably won’t have seen before.

Sweets for all occasions are served from their inimitable VW Campervan named ‘Olive’, making for an eye-catching display as well as creating a great talking point for your guests. I guess you could say they are a cute Candy Cart with a twist!

Rachael Davies, owner of Sweet Campers says – ‘’we have a passion for sweets and old VW Campervans, so it seemed natural to combine the two together. Our first wedding was amazing and we loved the fact that guests young and old revelled at the mouth watering sweets from our vintage sweet shop set up from inside the campervan.’’

The nuptials of Tracey and Kevin Smith took place at Blackwell Grange Hotel in Darlington on 23rd August, 2014. Olive, a fully refurbished 1979 VW Campervan, first served as stunning wedding transport and then transformed into a stylish traditional sweet shop, which guests could visit and collect sweets of their choice, attended by delightful hosts.

The bride said – ‘’my brother- in-law booked Sweet Campers as a surprise for our wedding as he knew myself and my husband are big VW Campervan lovers. We couldn't have asked for a better surprise, the sweets went down a treat with all the guests, big and small. The drive too was such a great experience. After having photos with the van, Graham was kind enough to take us to a local park and sit and wait for us to have some photos taken. Graham and Rachael are the perfect hosts and we are so happy that they were able to be part of our big day and make it even more memorable. We will definitely be looking into hiring out the VW for a little holiday with the kids.’’

A variety of packages are available to suit all budgets, but more importantly a free consultation is offered to ensure that the bride and groom get exactly what they want. Sweet Campers are open to new ideas, as being different is key. Even if your wedding is not taking place in the North East, we encourage you to get in touch as Sweet Campers will travel! You can even hire Olive for your honeymoon, with their great self-drive hire package.

Love Heart Exclusive // Boho Rock Collaborative Shoot by Pompadour Couture Lingerie

When photographer Dan Lord of Forecast Designs and Kym Chapman MUA started planning their own wedding they immediately began looking for inspiration that married both of their tastes and styles. After all, if a wedding is to be successful and memorable it must perfectly combine the passions and interests of both individuals, and it should do so with creativity and sentiment.

Boho flowers, leather, vintage hairpieces, and sophisticated full gowns were some of the ideas put forward for the creation of their theme, and this inspired Pompadour Couture Lingerie to put together a shoot that was a little bit different. This shoot is especially for brides who want to add an edge to her look, but also to remain classy and feminine.

Pompadour Couture Lingerie were in the process of putting together an exciting new collection of leather laser-cut garters and bridal sashes, when it was decided that they would partner with Forecast Designs/Memory Box Weddings in the creation of the shoot. They would pull together some great British talent and capture something Uber Chic inspired by both Rock and Boho styles, featuring Kym Chapman MUA centre stage.

The beautiful floral china tiara by Cherished Vintage was perfect for the concept, as were the breath-taking floral designs by Flowers By Breige.

Pompadour Couture Lingerie’s leather laser-cut garter and sash add an extra level of texture and interest, and both are perfectly partnered with exquisite leather laser-cut shoes by Harriet Wilde.

All of these elements are brought together beautifully to compliment the gorgeous and dramatic gowns by Ritva Westenius, and captured to perfection by Forecast Designs and Memory Box Weddings.

Since launching in April 2014, the Charlotte Mills Bridal brand has gone from strength to strength, with Charlotte's debut collection receiving a fantastic response from bridal magazines, bloggers and retailers alike.

As the collection continues to grow, Charlotte is staying true to the brand ensuring that all of her new styles feature the signature love heart design, with each style incorporating this in an individual and unique way. Charlotte has also added some colour to the collection, for brides who want something a bit different to the traditional wedding shoe.

All Charlotte Mills styles are hand finished with a silver sixpence in the left shoe, and the leather sole is embossed with the phrase “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe.”  Charlotte has incorporated each of these traditions in to every pair of her shoes.
